- About the Chouettes
Les Chouettes is a Montreal group that organizes social, cultural and outdoor activities for women who love women. Our association offers opportunities for lesbian, gay, bisexual, queer and trans women to meet and expand their network in a friendly and relaxed environment.
In addition to our bi-monthly happy hours, our activities include hiking, camping, skiing, snowshoeing, sliding, board game nights, apple picking, trips to museums, sugar shacks, etc.
The Chouettes was created in Montreal by Maryse and M-C, in July 2005. After a year as co-organizer of the group, M-C moved on to new projects. But the adventure continued with a new committee consisting of Maryse, Bich, Isabelle, Nawel, Natacha, Anne and Astrid. Starting in January 2007, more cultural, sporting and outdoor events were therefore added to our calendar of events. The current organizers of the Chouettes are Caroline, Geneviève, Ginny, Isabelle, Kristina, Maryline and Maryse.
What happens at our happy hours?
Our happy hours take place every other Friday at a bar on the Plateau, in the Quartier Latin or in Verdun. It’s the perfect time to mix and mingle with other women! There is always an organizer to welcome the newcomers and introduce them to the other participants. At around 7:15 pm, many of us leave the happy hour to have dinner. If you want to join us for dinner, please confirm your presence with the organizer before 6:15 pm. You can join us for the entire evening or simply stop by for part of the happy hour or to have dinner. We hope to see you soon!
